Egyptian National Team Dominates at Second Arab Underwater Photography Championship

The Egyptian national underwater photography team has proven its excellence in the field, taking home multiple medals at the Second Arab Underwater Photography Championship held in Aqaba, Jordan.

The championship, which ran from March 10th to March 15th, saw teams across the Arab world come together to showcase their skills and compete for top honors. The Egyptian delegation consisted of Sameh Elshazly, president of the Egyptian and Arab Diving and Lifesaving Federation; International Chief Judge Sameh Mesharaffa, Head of the delegation Tamer Elana; and the athletes, Hossam Nassef and Amir Fayed.

The team's standout performances were impressive, with Hossam Nassef earning the gold medal in the Macro Category and Amir Fayed earning three awards in different categories. Fayed won the silver medal in the Wide Angle with Diver Category and the bronze medal in both the Wide Angle and Macro Categories.

The national team's success did not come as a surprise, as they are well known for their expertise and skill in underwater photography. The President of the Egyptian and Arab Diving and Lifesaving Federation, Sameh Elshazly, stated, “It's a great event and a great result.” Their dedication and hard work paid off, paying homage to Egyptian athletes of the past, succeeding in showcasing their talents, and bringing home multiple medals for their country.

The closing ceremony was a fitting end to the championship, with the attendance of notable figures such as the Royal Jordanian Navy Commander, the President, and the BoD Members of ADLF and Royal Jordanian Marine Sports Federation. The athletes were praised for their achievements and applauded for their outstanding performance.

Having made their fellow citizens proud, Egyptians don’t need to wait too long to see more of their outstanding work. When asked, the President of the Egyptian and Arab Diving and Lifesaving Federation, Sameh Elshazly, stated, “Next year, we'll be hosting the Third Arab Championship in Marsa Alam.”
